There will be one or two more portriats in this series, of either Kalypso or Cassandra, or both. These take me a while to do, this particular piece I've been slowly working on since the winter.
God damn, your cool! It's got such an amazing 1980s Vertigo horror book feel. Her eyes...oh, god...her eyes... I don't remember Jason and the argonauts very well but I think I need to go and find a copy now. If you don't mind me saying so I hope you do draw Cassandra, the curse of foresight is a concept that I have never been able to get enough of, I look foreword to seeing how you would depict it. Was Kalypso the one who turned Odysseus's boys into to piggies? I loved that, it's really a lovely metaphor, don't you think? I always liked the Gorgons, the idea that the goddess of beauty would turn anyone into a monster if they where more attractive then her, Do you think you would ever tackle the trio, ya know as long as your on a grim streak?
Jason and the Argonauts was my favorite movie growing up (well, one of them.). Medea doesn't go crazy until after the movie ends though! Ah, tragedy. Calypso was a nymph, the one who kept Odysseus captive for seven years! Circe was the one turning guys into pigs, I already did her XD I don't know if I'll do the Gorgon, since she's more of a monster than a sorceress! (sorceress is the theme for the pieces). Medea is probably the grimmist I'll get, although Cassandry was pretty depressing, but totally not as scary.
Sorry, At one point I knew bit about mythology but that was long time ago. What about the weird sisters? Ya know the maiden, the mother and the crone. I think they were Greek (clash of the titans messed my mythology right the fuck up).
Thanks for the comment!
she looks amazingly insane!!!!!!
