Opinions are a Dangerous thing: Art StylesThis isn't about narking on anyone no, infact this is just my own muses really! You could say this is a journal for ENCOURAGEMENT! *SHINES*
I find sticking to one style restrictive if you are a beginning/moderate artist! (even professionals I might say! though I can't speak for everyone)
Having a distinctive look on how your art is done and produced is understandable and its a desire to appear unique to the point some one can just SEE your work and instantly think 'Oh! that's Ten-days!' or something along the line. However, when you are trying to find who you are and what kind of art you are to produce, I recommend trying, well, a lot of different things! Different styles, mixing styles, different colouring techinque, brushes, tools, shading. Don't feel dependant on what you are already doing and don't feel pressured by people just for trying new things!
Push out of your comfort zone. Can't draw hands? don't avoid it! draw the heck out of them! (how else are you going to learn?)

Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Nintendo STEALS Money!Since this has been going around lately, I should probably give my two cents. Basically what it amounts to is that Nintendo has filed Content ID info of their games with YouTube. What this means is that if you upload gameplay video of a Nintendo game, YouTube will automatically monetize that video, put ads on it, a link to where to buy the game, and take the money generated from that video and give it directly to Nintendo. People who do "let's play" videos are, naturally, pissed off because they want to be earning money off their videos, so they're calling Nintendo "thieves" for doing this.
I can see both sides to the story. I can see Nintendo as a corporation wanting to exercise control over their properties. On the other hand, "let's play" videos can often help new gamers find games they otherwise wouldn't have tried.
But here's the thing: Nintendo isn't the first company do this. Both Microsoft and Ubisoft do it already. YouTube has also had a long history of having music videos and

East Coast Rising Volume 2

So many of you know that my graphic novel from Tokyopop, East Coast Rising, was canceled in 2008 after the first volume, despite it finding critical success and being fairly well-received, and also despite the fact that I was 3/4s of the way finished with the second volume.

As I was cleaning the other day I found the 120 or so pages that I had already drawn, and I thought man, what a shame, all that work. And the worst part, that volume 1 ended on a cliffhanger! Nobody will ever know if they defeat the Suffocating Death, or are consumed (that would have made a quick end to the series!) to quell it's seemingly endless appetite (it already ate Mr. Snuggles, the giant, flesh-eating turtle...)

I think a nice start to the new year would be to put an end to this cliff-hanger, so I've started posting 3 pages a day on my blog until the first 18 pages are up and the cliff-hanger is resolved. I'll feel a little better for it, even though this may not be the most ideal medium to read comics in (3 pages a day for six days? ugh.), I just want to get it out there. These pages are also unfinished, I took off the tones and it hasn't been lettered, but I think you can get the gist of what's happening. Feel free to fill in your own words if you have some time to kill!

I just bought east coast rising at a manga con, without knowing anything about it (mainly just picked it up because it had a man with dreadlocks at the cover XD), but I actually really liked it! And I'm very sad to here it's just... gone. Know I will always wonder about that amazing treasure... Oh well, I'll at least figure out if they get killed or not XD

You can't even imagine how much happy you made me...hell, you actually just made my day!

You're officially my favorite comic artist and ECR was a comic that in some ways helped me a lot...I still read it time to time (ok, yes, often. Ok, yes, I just read it again two days ago).

Ah, maybe this will sound stupid, but I wanted you to know that..I remember.

I Demo you wrote "I hope this collection brings back memories for everyone; the store that you bought a particular issue at, where you were when you read it, the people you lent your copies to and never got back". Well, I do remember all these things very well, because these issues are very kind to me and, who knows why, I always find something made by you when I need it. Or in special days.

Bah, sorry for the randomness and the bad English. ...BUT I STILL WAIT FOR YOU TO COME IN ITALY AGAIN DDD8
